Our Mission: Helping animals become pets, helping pets become family

Vision: To help create a vibrant, animal welfare-focused community by improving the lives of homeless pets and the residents of North Central Florida and beyond. We are committed to rescuing dogs and cats, with a focus on challenged animals, providing them with excellent veterinary care and educating the community in order to place new family members into loving, forever homes.

  • Compassion—to treat animals with care, ethics and kindness;
  • Education—to promote education and awareness of animal welfare and husbandry;
  • Service—to serve the animals in need of help in and around our community.

We are committed to ensuring every animal in our care has the Five Freedoms as prescribed by the Farm Animal Welfare Council and Association of Shelter Veterinarians:

  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst by ready access to fresh water and diet to maintain health and vigor.
  2. Freedom from discomfort by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area.
  3. Freedom from pain, injury, or disease by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment.
  4. Freedom to express normal behavior by providing sufficient space, proper facilities, and company of the animal’s own kind.
  5. Freedom from fear and distress by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.
